![]() I'm in my mid 30s, I live in a small town in the Midwest and it's been this way my whole life. ![]() I also don't go on opening weekends, so maybe that's a difference? Outside of the movies that are only in theaters for a couple of days. I'd prefer it if it didn't happen at all, of course, but it's not something I would really think about after the movie. About as disruptive as someone getting up to go to the restroom. Once or twice people might bring up their phones, but usually just to turn them off immediately again so it's annoying but doesn't ruin the whole movie. And I've been uncomfortable with people coughing since Covid but that's also more of an issue with me, people cough when breathing sometimes, not every cough is a disease. Sometimes people laugh or gasp louder than I'd like but that's part of the experience and I recognize that expecting everyone to be completely silent is unreasonable. It makes me curious as to where people live too cause same here, granted I only watch about 4~6 movies per year in theaters, but the crowd's rarely an issue. This turned into a novel, let that be a testament to how sick I am of this hahaha It's really not hard to at least TRY to wrangle your kids and teach them basic shit like this. If I was in your position during this movie I absolutely would have said something and if the parents acted like assholes about it I might even go to the ticket booth or whatever. From their home and that transition to public expectations may be tough on the youngins, but that's where parents are supposed to step up and quell their little creatures. I try to think about it a little bit, a lot of people who are younger haven't really been to the movies much and covid made people understand viewing movies etc. ![]() Now it's just full volume or louder for long periods of time. I understand certain movies geared towards kids may have some chatter or whatever, but even a few years ago most kids knew to be as hushed as possible and whisper. Yeah, it's like covid times completely robbed people of any kind of public social awareness or grace.
